Summary

• I am a board certified nuclear trained neuropsychiatrist who owns a unique private practice that combines traditional psychiatry with functional brain imaging (i.e., advanced quantitative brain SPECT with an FDA approved normative sample) with optional machine learning (AI) enhancement along with principles of neuroscience, connectomics, molecular medicine, and nuclear medicine. This approach adds powerful information to aid clinical judgment, showing some of the mechanisms behind mental illness and allowing us to target dysfunctional neurotransmitters and pathological networks. In addition to traditional psychopharmacology, I also utilize some forms of neurotechnology (e.g., photobiomodulation light therapy for TBI) in certain patients. I see many complicated patients with multiple comorbidities or those who are treatment resistant.
  
  My background includes some leadership (e.g., I was Chief Medical Officer for several different hospitals), military service (I'm a retired Army psychiatrist), as well as working in multiple settings (I did consult-liaison psychiatry and inpatient geriatrics as well as traditional inpatient/outpatient roles) seeing ages 18 and up (including geriatrics). I also did additional training in SPECT brain imaging (didactic training with a preceptorship) and I have studied neuroscience and molecular medicine extensively. I have interests that include the integration of neuroscience, machine learning/AI, and neurotechnology (e.g., PBMT, VR/AR, wearable fNIR, etc) into clinical settings.
