Job Highlights
Comprehensive Pain Consultants of the Carolinas, a PartnerCare affiliated company, is seeking a full-time Board Certified or Board Eligible Interventional Pain Management Physician to join our growing and established outpatient practice in Murphy, North Carolina.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Provides comprehensive, multi-disciplinary interventional pain management care through a combination of interventional procedures, therapies, and medication management, as needed.
- Evaluate patients for medical concerns i.e., injury, disease, chronic pain, or a disabling condition) and assesses the physical and mental condition of patients by performing and obtaining comprehensive or problem-focused physical examinations and medical histories.
- Performs a full range of injections, medial branch blocks, nerve blocks, RFA procedures, advanced procedures, and other minimally invasive techniques.
- Creates a safe, balanced, and patient focused approach to pain management and the patient’s treatment plan, including monitoring ongoing progress and health of patients and adjusting treatment plans, as necessary.
- This position is both clinic- and hospital-based with procedures performed both in-office and in local hospitals we partner with, each with a dedicated support staff experienced in interventional pain procedures.
- Directs, supports, supervises, and collaborates with Advanced Practice Providers (Physician Assistants and/or Nurse Practitioners) in care delivery.
- Maintains accurate, timely, and complete Electronic Health Records detailing the patients’ treatment plans and outcomes.
- Orders and interprets appropriate diagnostic radiology exams, laboratory testing, and other modalities to assess patients’ condition and progress.
- Initiates timely consultation and referrals when a patient’s condition or problem exceeds the scope of the practice and/or the physicians’ expertise.
- Actively participates in growing the practice through marketing to referral sources, educational events, and social engagements.
- Maintains strictest confidentiality; adheres to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations.
Educational & Licensing Requirements:
- Must have a of Medicine (MD) or a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree or foreign degree equivalent required.
- Must be Board Eligible or Board Certified in Pain Medicine and Anesthesiology or Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
- Have completed - or in process of completing - a Pain Medicine Fellowship from an ACGME-Accredited Program.
- Must have or willing to obtain an active Medical License and DEA License in the state of North Carolina.
- Must have Basic Life Support (BLS) / Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
About the Practice:
Comprehensive Pain Consultants of the Carolinas (CPC) was founded in 2009, and until 2017, was only providing outpatient contracted services in hospitals. In 2017, CPC opened its first freestanding clinic in Marion, NC. Today, CPC is the largest interventional pain management group in Western North Carolina, with three freestanding clinics featuring procedure rooms and six freestanding feeder clinics staffed by a midlevel provider. Across its freestanding clinic and hospital footprint, CPC’s primary patient services include diagnosis and treatment of chronic conditions, including neck and back pain, headaches and migraines, fibromyalgia, cancer pain, diabetic and joint pain, arthritis, neuropathic pain, sciatica, and complex regional pain syndrome.

Compensation Details
$400-600k
Year 1: Guaranteed base salary plus collections percentage to support you during the ramp-up period. Year 2+: Transition to a strictly collections-based compensation model.
