#### Overview:
We are seeking an experienced OB/GYN Locum Tenens Physician to provide temporary coverage in both our clinic and hospital settings. The position offers a balanced mix of obstetrics and gynecology, with a call schedule of 1 in 4 and a clinic workload of 4 days per provider per week.
This role is ideal for a board-certified OB/GYN professional with experience in both low- and high-risk pregnancies, as well as proficiency in performing gynecological procedures. You will work alongside a collaborative team of OB/GYNs, certified nurse midwives (CNMs), and other healthcare providers.
#### Key Responsibilities:
Obstetrics:
- Provide prenatal care for low-risk and high-risk pregnancies, including those with pre-existing conditions (e.g., toxemia, pyelonephritis, diabetes, etc.).
- Perform routine deliveries (vaginal, low forceps) and manage complicated deliveries (C-sections, breech, multiple births, abruptions).
- Conduct FHR interpretation, including NST, CST, and FSE.
- Perform OB ultrasounds (Level I/screening, viability assessments).
- Supervise certified nurse midwives when they take first call, especially during weekend coverage.
Gynecology:
- Provide office-based gynecological procedures such as IUD insertions, cystoscopy, colposcopy, cryosurgery, and LEEP.
- Perform minor and diagnostic laparoscopic procedures (e.g., tubal ligations, LOAs, chromal tubations).
- Manage office gynecology cases with a focus on patient care and effective treatment plans.
- While no major surgical gynecology procedures are required, you will be expected to address surgical gynecology needs as necessary (e.g., ectopic pregnancy, ovary removal, cystectomy).
Clinic Duties:
- Provide comprehensive OB/GYN care in the clinic setting with an average of 15-20 patients per day.
- Participate in the management of patients, including providing counseling, prenatal care, and gynecological evaluations.
- Utilize Epic as the documentation system to track patient care and treatment plans.
Hospital Duties:
- Work in the hospital’s labor and delivery unit, which includes routine and complicated deliveries.
- Respond to OB/GYN emergencies with a focus on safe, high-quality care.
- Collaborate with hospital staff, including midwives and nursing teams, in both obstetric and gynecological care.
Call & Weekend Coverage:
- 1 in 4 call schedule, with 80% call back rate for both weekdays and weekends.
- Certified nurse midwives generally take first call on weekends, with physician supervision as necessary.
#### Caseload & Workload:

Obstetrics Caseload:
- Low Risk Pregnancies: 50%
- High Risk Pregnancies: 50%
- C-Sections: 20% of deliveries
- Deliveries per Week: 6 (on average)

Gynecology Caseload:
- Office GYN: 35%
- Surgical GYN: No major surgical procedures required, but minor procedures and diagnostics are expected.

- Clinic: 15-20 patients per day
- Deliveries: 6 per week (on average)
#### Required Procedures:

Obstetrics:
- Perform routine vaginal deliveries, C-sections, breech deliveries, and complicated deliveries.
- Perform 3rd and 4th degree laceration repairs.
- Monitor and interpret fetal heart rate using NST/CST/FSE.
- Conduct basic OB ultrasounds (Level I).

Gynecology:
- Perform minor gynecology procedures (IUD insertions, cystoscopy, colposcopy, LEEP, etc.).
- Surgical GYN procedures (open and laparoscopic) may include tubal ligation, chromal tubation, ectopic pregnancies, and cystectomy.
#### Qualifications:
- ABOG Board Certification required.
- Experience in both low- and high-risk OB, with proficiency in managing deliveries, C-sections, and OB ultrasound interpretation.
- Experience in gynecology, including minor office procedures and laparoscopic surgery.
- Ability to supervise certified nurse midwives during weekend call and provide clinical oversight.
- Familiarity with Epic EHR system preferred.
