The Jim and Eleanor Randall Department of Surgery at Cedars-Sinai is seeking a highly skilled, academically oriented surgical oncologist to serve as the Director of Surgical Oncology at our Huntington Hospital site in Pasadena, CA.
Huntington Hospital has been servicing the San Gabriel Valley community since 1892, making it one of the oldest and most established healthcare institutions in the region. With 544 beds, Huntington Hospital is also one of the largest hospitals in the area. The Cancer Program and Huntington Hospital has been continuously accredited by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer since 1977 and treats approximately 2000 newly diagnosed cancer patients annually. Since affiliating with Cedars-Sinai Cancer, the program continues to expand with the addition of numerous faculty, opening of clinical trials, and the recent groundbreaking of the state-of-the-art Kohl Medical Pavilion, future home of the Huntington Cancer Center, an affiliate of Cedars-Sinai Cancer.
The ideal candidate will possess an excellent background in surgical oncology, demonstrates effective leadership skills, has mentored junior faculty and is commitment to excellence in patient care, surgical education, and clinical research.
The Division currently consists of fourteen faculty who have expertise in all areas of surgical oncology. Faculty provide expert clinical care, train general surgery residents, as well as fellows in a Society of Surgical Oncology-approved breast surgical oncology fellowship and an ACGME-approved complex general surgical oncology fellowship.
At Cedars-Sinai Cancer, we offer state-of-the-art treatments, experimental therapies, next-generation research, and cutting-edge clinical trials for over sixty types of cancer at more than ten locations throughout Greater Los Angeles. There are over 200 clinical trials available to patients at any given time.
Cedars-Sinai treats cancer patients with a multi-disciplinary approach. Our rapidly expanding, vertically integrated health system is a central destination for the integration of revolutionary advances into daily clinical practice.
Qualifications:
- Medical Degree from an accredited medical school.
- Board Certification in General Surgery by the American Board of Surgery (or equivalent) and specialty training or experience in surgical oncology.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Huntington Hospital Medical Staff Membership and CSMC Medical Staff Membership.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an unrestricted California license as Physician and Surgeon.
- Eligible for recommendation to the appropriate academic rank to the Medical Center’s professoriate series.
- A track record of excellence in teaching, patient care, leadership, and administration.

Compensation Details
$552-700k
Our compensation philosophy We offer competitive total compensation that includes pay, benefits, and other incentive programs for our employees. The total pay range shown takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including knowledge/skills; relevant experience and training; education/certifications/licensure; and other business and organizational factors. This total pay range includes any incentive payments that may be applicable to this role. We also offer a comprehensive faculty benefits package. Pay Range: $552,000 - $700,000 total cash compensation.
