Rochester Regional Health (RRH) seeks a visionary leader to serve as the System Executive Medical Director of Cancer Services, overseeing the renowned Lipson Cancer Institute—a premier, research-driven cancer center serving 1.2 million residents across Western New York.

Your Leadership Impact

As the System Executive Medical Director, you will have the power to expand, elevate, and transform cancer services by leading four key divisions:

  • Division of Cancer Surgical Specialties (Breast Surgery, Gynecologic Oncology, Head & Neck, Surgical Oncology)
  • Division of Radiation Oncology
  • Division of Hematology/Oncology (Hematologic Malignancies, Stem Cell Transplant, Medical Oncology)
  • Division of Hospice and Palliative Care

You will collaborate with Division Heads, top-tier specialists, and a high-performing executive team to elevate patient outcomes, drive clinical advancements, and ensure world-class, compassionate care for every patient.

The Role – What You'll Lead

  • Set the Vision – Define and execute the long-term strategy for comprehensive, system-wide cancer care.
  • Expand Access – Strengthen regional integration of oncology services and patient-centered care.
  • Elevate Clinical Excellence – Implement best-in-class oncology care models that enhance outcomes.
  • Advance Research & Innovation – Champion clinical trials, precision medicine, and next-gen treatments.
  • Strengthen Multidisciplinary Teams – Inspire and mentor a powerhouse team of oncologists, surgeons, and radiation specialists.
  • Optimize Quality & Safety – Drive initiatives that enhance patient safety and elevate care standards.
  • Advocate for Investment – Secure strategic investments in cancer care, research, and technology.

Minimum Requirements

  • MD or DO, Board Certified in specialty
  • 10+ years of clinical oncology experience with 5+ years in leadership
  • Academic and/or clinical research experience preferred
  • MBA, MHA preferred
  • Eligibility for New York state medical licensure
