Job Summary:

The University of Wisconsin Carbone Cancer Center (UWCCC) and the Division of Hematology, Medical Oncology and Palliative Care, Department of Medicine at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health is seeking applicants for a full-time clinical professor, associate professor or assistant professor on the Clinician Teacher (CT) track to join our faculty. This physician will have the ability to develop a practice as a general hematologist/oncologist and maintain a specialty area of interest within our community clinics.

Responsibilities:

As Clinician Track faculty, the principal duty is direct patient care. Our community based physicians, nurse practitioners and health care specialists provide exceptional patient-centered care with access to all UWCCC clinical trials, multi-disciplinary oncology programs including medical oncology, surgical oncology, radiation oncology, precision medicine, medical imaging, cancer immunology & immunotherapy and early drug development. Clinical research is conducted in the UWCCC by 22 multi-disciplinary Disease Oriented Teams and is supported by the UWCCC Clinical Research Central Office on the main campus. Over 70 UWCCC investigators regularly enroll patients to therapeutic intervention trials at our UWCCC clinical sites. We are a member of the NCCN, ECOG- ACRIN, Alliance, BigTen Cancer Research Consortium, Wisconsin Oncology Network (WON) and Wisconsin Association of Hematology and Oncology (WAHO).

The Division of Hematology/Medical Oncology & Palliative Care is part of the Department of Medicine and the NCI-designated UW Carbone Comprehensive Cancer Center. The Division is active in all phases of cancer therapy development and evaluation. Education:

Required
Terminal Degree
MD, DO or equivalent is required.

Qualifications:

  • Clinical and research interest in medical oncology and/or malignant hematology is required.
  • Completion of an accredited fellowship training program in Hematology/Medical Oncology is required.
  • Candidates for professor and associate professor rank must meet criteria for appointment at rank per UW School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines on the Clinician Teacher track.

License/Certification:

Required
MD - Physician - State Licensure
Must be Board Eligible or Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine Certification in Hematology/Medical Oncology. Candidate is required to have or be eligible for a Wisconsin Medical License.
