    This is your chance to take an Alaskan adventure and make great money while you do it! We are currently looking for rotating Physician Assistants or Nurse Practitioners who are interested in remote medicine in Alaska Native villages. Multiple opportunities available for provider in multiple scopes of practice. You may be on call for emergencies in a solo-provider site or in a larger community doing straight primary care. All providers must be extremely flexible, capable of working alone, able to think on their feet, and truly committed to excellent patient care.

    DATES: ASAP and ongoing. Start date is negotiable if you cannot start ASAP.

    OVERVIEW:

    • Locum Tenens
    • Flexible schedule. Rotations are also flexible so you are able to work around your home life! (rotations need to be 3-4 weeks at a time with a multi rotation commitment) 
    • Primary and Emergency Care and On-Call for Emergencies
    • Shared call in several of the villages required - please ask for more details
    • Monday to Friday 8am (or 9am) to 5pm clinic
    • some after hour urgent care hours may be required, please ask for more information. 
    • Annual assignments available with rotating schedules; make your own monthly rotating schedules
    • Total of 18 FTE providers currently needed throughout the region
    • Travel to and from other village clinics is required 
    • Patient volume village clinic - averages 5 per day
    • Patient volume ER - varies but typically low
    • Nightly triage lines in place to minimize frequent non-emergent call back during the night.

    COMPENSATION DETAILS:

    - Pay: $935 per day for every day you are in the village. - $275/day for on call - Holidays are $1,402.50 per day
    • Paid travel day of $935 at the beginning and end of the assignment
    • Housing and travel expenses included and are arranged for you
    • Medical malpractice insurance provided
    • 1099 contractor position

    POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

    • Active Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license with State of Alaska
    • BLS, ACLS 
    • ATLS and PALS preferred but not required
    • Active DEA registration 
    • Covid vaccination with booster required
    • Minimum 2 years of solo full-spectrum emergency experience required.
    • Must have direct patient care experience with stabilization and medevac, including intubations, chest tubes, complicated airways and strong suturing skills.
    • Alaska bush experience highly preferred
    • Must be culturally sensitive and willing to embrace the native community and their culture.
