    Bay Area Hospital, a 127-bed Level III Trauma center on the Southern Coast of Oregon, is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant (PA) to join the Surgical Services team. This is a full-time position that requires assisting in various surgical specialties including Orthopedics, General Surgery, Urology, and ENT. The successful candidate will work closely with surgeons and medical staff to provide excellent patient care across a variety of settings.

    • Assist in surgery and various diagnostic and therapeutic procedures within the scope of practice.
    • Provide pre-operative and post-operative care to surgical patients.
    • Manage room setup and turnover for procedures.
    • Work closely with the operative team, OR manager, and charge nurses to ensure smooth operations in the operating room.
    • Perform patient assessments and document accurately in the medical record.
    • Maintain effective communication with patients, families, and the surgical team.
    • Adhere to sterile techniques and ensure the safety and wellbeing of all patients undergoing surgery.
    • Respond to patient care needs in a timely and efficient manner.
    • Education: Board Certified Physician Assistant.
    • Licensure: Active OR PA license (or willingness to obtain).
    • Experience: 2+ years of experience as a PA in Orthopedics (excluding training).
    • Skills:
    • Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare staff.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Basic computer skills and ability to use a personal computer when required.
    • Physical agility and stamina to respond quickly to patient care needs.
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ties to Oregon, e.g., family in the area or prior residency.
    • Experience in General Surgery, Urology, or ENT is a plus.
    • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and stretch for prolonged periods.
    • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and assist in patient transfers.
    • Must adhere to standard precautions due to exposure to blood and bodily fluids.
