The Orthopedic Program is seeking a Lead Advanced Practitioner. Applicants must hold a current AP position in the Orthopedic Surgery department with SSM Health Dean Medical Group to be considered. Prior supervisory experience is preferred.

Under supervision of the Orthopedic Medical Director, oversee day to day activities of the AP staff which may include:

  • Performance management/evaluation, including annual performance evaluations and assisting in competency assessments and remediation with assistance of Clinic Manager and/ or Director.
  • Professional orientation and development of new and existing AP staff.
  • Communicating site/division changes to AP staff.
  • As delegated by the Orthopedic Medical Director, the Lead AP schedules, coordinates and supervises activities of the AP staff members which may include monitoring and managing workload/staffing, daily assignments, vacation scheduling and scheduling of personal and education days.
  • Acts as a liaison to the Orthopedic Medical Director on technical or clinical issues related to the AP staff.
  • Acts as a liaison to the Orthopedic Medical Director in promoting exceptional clinical care and customer service in the Division and actively works to resolve identified issues.
  • Meets regularly with the following to discuss division and practice related issues: Clinic Manager, Administrator, Medical Director, AP subdivision leads, AP group, and Senior Administration.
  • Assist in KPI Measures and departmental activities as required.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Physician Assistant
  • Certified Physician Assistant
  • Prefer post-education experience in a surgical specialty
  • Prefer first-assist OR experience
  • Wisconsin PA license and Wisconsin DEA
