  • Phoenix Children's is actively seeking a Plastic Surgery Physician Assistant to join their dynamic team here in Phoenix, AZ!

    Phoenix Children’s Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery is a busy 7 surgeon division with locations in both the East and West Valley in addition to the Phoenix Main Campus. This position will support a pediatric plastic surgeon who specializes in Hand Surgery, Microvascular Surgery, and general pediatric plastic surgery.

    Job Details

    1. The PA will assist in the OR for a variety of plastic surgery procedures and in addition will run their own post op clinic concurrently with the surgeon. The PA will be working alongside attendings, residents and other PAs and must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    2. The position will include weekday and some weekend and holiday call coverage in conjunction with a surgeon. The call is rotated among APPs and a resident and will require answering hospital and outpatient phone calls and assisting with any urgent surgeries.

    1. OR 1st Assist
    2. Patient Evaluation Post-Op Population
    3. Entering Procedure Orders
    4. Rounding on inpatients
    5. Seeing new inpatient and ED consultations
    6. Daily EHR Documentation
    7. Answering questions from bedside RN’s and pharmacy
    8. Coordinating patient discharge.

    Certifications

    • Current BLS certification for Healthcare Provider from the American Heart Association or obtained by start date.
    • Current State of Arizona certification as a Physician Assistant or obtained by start date.
    • Maintain certificate in National Commission on Certification for Physician Assistants (NCCPA).

    Education

    • Master’s degree from nationally accredited ARC-PA program.

    Special Skills

    • Excellent interpersonal skills, strong verbal communication, and basic computer skills.
