  • UT Tyler School of Medicine seeks an accomplished cardiologist with advanced training (COCATS Level 3) in multimodality cardiac imaging (cardiac MRI and/or CT) to lead our advanced cardiac imaging program. Candidates should be board-certified/board-eligible in Cardiovascular Medicine. Ideal candidates will be board certified in at least one imaging subspecialty.

    This individual will join the faculty of UT Tyler School of Medicine and will serve as the Director of Non-invasive Imaging at the UT Health East Texas Heart and Vascular Institute. Candidates will participate in cardiology fellow education, quality improvement, staff training, market growth analysis, and research relating to advanced cardiac imaging in addition to the core ABIM/ACGME required foundation in the general cardiology fellowship.

    The UT Health East Texas Heart and Vascular Institute provides a wide range of cardiac care from comprehensive diagnostics to open heart surgery and cardiac rehabilitation. Our facilities are state-of-the-art, including three dedicated catheterization labs, two dedicated EP suites, two dedicated cardiac operating rooms, a 10-bed cardiovascular ICU, a 30+ bed cardiac step down and recovery floor and a dedicated cardiac rehab program.

    About UT Tyler School of Medicine: The University of Texas at Tyler School of Medicine is the first medical school in East Texas and the seventh in The University of Texas System. Its mission is to train future healthcare professionals to embrace responsibility for the unique needs of rural and hard-to-reach communities and populations, particularly those in East Texas.

    The school offers a robust Graduate Medical Education program, with 20 residency and fellowship training programs, enabling graduates to gain specialized skills in areas such as family medicine, internal medicine, neurology, psychiatry, surgery, and anesthesia.     Construction is currently underway on a five-story, 248,000-square-foot Medical Education Building (MEB) in Tyler’s Midtown District. Connected by a skybridge to UT Health Tyler, the MEB will support interdisciplinary education for medical students and resident training. It will also aid as part of a medical education program expansion throughout the UT Health East Texas Health System. The building is scheduled for completion in fall of 2025.
