Job Summary:

The Physician Assistant (PA) in the Allergy Department will work under the guidance of the Chief of the department to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care. The PA will conduct comprehensive patient consultations, assessments, and diagnostic testing, including skin tests, food challenges, hives, and test conferences. They will also manage both in-person and telemedicine visits, ensuring accurate and timely documentation of patient records. Additionally, the PA will collaborate with the broader healthcare team to develop and implement effective treatment plans for patients with various allergic conditions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other assignments, projects and duties may be required:

  • Provide direct patient care to facilitate the provider's practice and provides health education information.
  • Management of Information: Accurately documents and communicates to appropriate care providers. Which includes but is not limited to: Confidentiality, documentation, clerical duties, release of information and computer use.
  • Patient Rights and Responsibilities: Practices positive guest and peer relationships, supports and respects patient rights.
  • Human Resources: Responsible for personal growth and career development, including but not limited to certifications, annual competency assessment and Teamwork.
  • Infection Control: Provides an environment to prevent and control the spread of disease within the clinical setting.

Experience:

Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience as a Physician Assistant preferably in allergy, asthma, immunology, or a related field.

Proficiency in performing and interpreting skin prick tests, spirometry, and other diagnostic allergy tests. Experience in managing allergic conditions such as asthma, food allergies, hives, eczema, allergic rhinitis, and anaphylaxis is preferred.

Education:

Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.

Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)

Licenses and Certifications:

Current state license and NCCPA certification.

Active Registered Nurse (RN)

Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN)

Certifications: AANP, ANCC, or PNCB

Must have Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications
