Boston Medical Center

Boston University School of Medicine, Section of Hematology and Medical Oncology (Dr. Matthew Kulke, Section Chief) is expanding our Neuro-Oncology cancer program and has a search underway for a Director of Neuro Oncology (DNO). This is an academic appointment with BUSM.

The DNO will collaborate with physicians and staff in the Departments of Neurosurgery, Neurology, and Radiation Oncology to provide multi-disciplinary care for patients with primary and metastatic CNS and spinal malignancies and expand the neuro oncology program at BMC.

The DNO will have opportunities to create, expand and direct a clinical trials program and work with laboratory-based investigators on basic and translational studies. In addition, the DNO will be directly involved in the education and training of medical students and residents and fellows in multiple allied specialties. With the DNO’s input, a full-time advanced practice provider will be recruited to support the program and provide administrative support for the existing multidisciplinary tumor board conference, case follow-up, and coordination of patient care.

The position is a unique opportunity to define, develop, expand and lead the delivery of oncology care to patients with CNS, PNS and spinal tumors at BMC. The existing framework of care for these patients at BMC is substantial, with expertise in neurosurgical oncology, radiation oncology (including stereotactic radiosurgery), neuro endocrinology, neuro ophthalmology, head and neck otolaryngology, skull base and endoscopic surgery and medical oncology.
