The neurohospitalist position is based at Sentara Leigh Hospital, a 250 bed, accredited Primary Stroke Center, and Magnet hospital for nursing excellence also specializing in orthopedic and spine care, heart, vascular, maternity care, and general surgery.

7 On/ 7 Off with resident physicians and advanced practice clinicians supporting the busy service. Comprehensive 24/7 endovascular services provided by interventional neuroradiologists and a fellowship trained endovascular neurosurgeon.

We also have several outpatient neurology opportunities located in well- equipped community hospitals with primary stroke certification and advanced practice clinician support.

Our neurology group is affiliated with Eastern Virginia Medical School and teaching opportunities as well as academic appointments are encouraged.

Sentara Neurology Specialists is the largest neurology practice in the area and includes fellowship trained sub-specialists in stroke, epilepsy, neuromuscular, autonomic, movement disorders, headache and multiple sclerosis. Outpatient opportunities available as well!
