On behalf of Laura Dunn MD, Chair of Psychiatry at UAMS and Jason Williams, Psy.D, Sr. Vice President, Chief Mental & Behavioral Health Officer, CareerPhysician, a national thought leader in executive academic pediatric search has been engaged to conduct an international search to identify a dynamic, transformational leader to serve as the next Division Chief of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at UAMS in Little Rock, Arkansas. This individual will be charged with designing and implementing a vision to develop a robust academic division and research infrastructure while also accounting for excellence in clinical care for the children of Arkansas and the region, education of diverse learners, including child and adolescent psychiatrists, and faculty mentorship and advancement in research and scholarly production.

Opportunity Highlights:

·        The division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry is home to 6 physician faculty, 7 Ph.D. faculty, 1 advanced practice registered nurses, 7 licensed counselors and two interns. The division treats approximately 15k patients in an outpatient clinic environment and provides consultations but does not have inpatient responsibility.

·        The state has committed a multi-million-dollar grant to the UAMS Research Institute to launch the National Center for Opioid Research.

·        The department of Psychiatry has one of the largest and most comprehensive health services and implementation research groups in the nation, as well as NIH, academic, and pharmaceutical sponsored clinical trials and hosts a large, multi-year NIH sponsored T32 research training grant primarily focused on addiction and brain sciences.

·        The named Chief will be integral in working with department leadership on a 5-year strategic plan and will have a unique opportunity to serve as a leader at the nationally recognized and state-of-the-art UAMS Psychiatric Research Institute. In addition, the Chief will develop and extend UAMS and Arkansas Children’s digital health program to meet growing statewide demand.

·        Applicants should hold a current faculty rank of Associate Professor or Professor, be board-certified in Psychiatry and sub-specialty board certified in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.

·        The city of Little Rock boasts of an abundance for outdoor enthusiasts, including great weather and numerous city parks with paved running/walking trails, bike paths, fishing, private and public golf courses, sports facilities, and picnic areas. Compensation Details

$325-400k

A highly competitive compensation and benefits package will be commensurate with rank, experience and achievement. Negotiations will be led by the Department Chair of Psychiatry at UAMS and the Executive Vice President and Chief Clinical and Academic Officer at Arkansas Children’s. Salary negotiable.
