Overview
The John W. Deming Department of Medicine, Section of Endocrinology at Tulane University School of Medicine invites applications for a faculty position at the level of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank.
The position involves participating in a university-based general Endocrinology practices located in the greater New Orleans. Our mission is to provide high-quality patient care and consult patient services for patients with a wide range of endocrine-related problems. We achieve this mission through quality patient care, innovative clinical and basic research, and nationally recognized medical education. The department is strong in diabetes and they perform clinical work across all aspects of endocrinology.
Qualifications:
- An M.D. or D.O. is required.
- Candidates are expected to be board-eligible or board-certified in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology.
- The candidate will participate in teaching medical students, residents, and Endocrinology fellows, in addition to full-time clinical activities.
Responsibilities: The successful candidates will provide clinical care for patients with a wide variety of endocrine disorders, including diabetes and thyroid disease.
- Must demonstrate a strong commitment to medical education, and a commitment to scholarship/quality improvement and health equity will be viewed favorably. Opportunities to participate in research may also be available.
- Teaching responsibilities may include conducting clinical and education activities. Selected candidates will have the opportunity to teach in the endocrine fellowship and internal medicine residency programs at Tulane University School of Medicine.
- Encourage regional and national research.
The new physician will be an integral member of the Section Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism.
