He completed his internal medicine residency at Saint Peter’s University Hospital/Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Brunswick, NJ, where he served as chief resident. Chowdhury attended medical school in Pune, India, after being awarded the Maulana Azad Scholarship for Academic Excellence in Biomedical Sciences by the President of India. He has authored over 60 scientific publications, and his contributions at the Cardiovascular Institute of New Jersey have made significant impact in the field of ACE inhibitor-induced angioedema and the understanding of “legacy effect” of hypercholesterolemia. Chowdhury has a keen interest in medical journalism as it relates to coronary artery disease and currently serves on the ACCEL editorial board, the American Heart Association’s Guideline Ambassador Committee, and American College of Cardiology’s Fellows in Training (FIT) editorial board. He will be commencing his interventional cardiology fellowship at the University of Massachusetts in the summer of 2022.
