- Yader Sandoval, MD, FACC, FSCAI, FESC is an Interventional Cardiologist at the Allina Health Minneapolis Heart Institute, Abbott Northwestern Hospital and an Adjunct Associate Professor of Medicine at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science. He is also an investigator with the Center for Coronary Artery Disease (CCAD) at the Minneapolis Heart Institute Foundation. His clinical practice and expertise relates to ischemic heart disease, complex coronary artery disease, including complex percutaneous coronary interventions, intracoronary imaging, and invasive coronary physiology, including microvascular dysfunction, as well as the clinical use of cardiac troponin.
Dr. Sandoval completed his Internal Medicine internship and residency at Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC) in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where he was recognized with the 2013 Morris Davidman Resident Teaching Award. He subsequently completed his Cardiovascular Disease (2013-2016) and Interventional Cardiology (2016-2017) fellowships at the HCMC – Abbott Northwestern Hospital program. During this time he served as Chief Fellow (2015-2016) and was the 2016 American College of Cardiology (ACC) Young Investigator Award finalist.
Following his training, he was recruited to join the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine at Mayo Clinic, where from June 2017 until June 2020 his primary practice was based at the Mayo Clinic Health System (MCHS) in La Crosse, Wisconsin where he served as the Medical Director of the SWWI MCHS Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory (2018-2020). He was subsequently recruited to join the Division of Interventional Cardiology at Mayo Clinic Rochester, where he practiced as a Consultant from July 2020 until June 2022 and served as the Medical Director of the CAD Clinic.
