Summary

  • I am an academic general surgeon with fellowship training in liver, pancreas and biliary surgery. I am currently the director of The Liver, Biliary, and Pancreas Surgery Center of Excellence at Viriginia Mason Medical Center is Seattle Washington and Clinical Professor of Surgery at the University of Washington. I have published over 150 pear-reviewed publications and 25 text book chapters. I have been a leader in the field of HPB surgery in North America for the past 25 years and past President of the America's HPB Association. My clinical interests are in the management of primary liver cancer, pancreatitis, pancreatic cancer, and bile duct injury. I have been involved in the development of surgical instrumentation to improve the safety of performing liver resection as well as the ablation of liver tumors. My other surgical interests are in managing small bowel obstruction and complex hernia surgery.
