Summary
- I am a Professor of Critical Care Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and Director of the Center for Research, Investigation, and Systems Modeling of Acute illness (CRISMA). Board certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Disease, and Critical Care Medicine, my research efforts include randomized clinical trials evaluating interventions in the ICU, such as sedation and ventilator weaning protocols and antipsychotics for the treatment of delirium, and a multicenter prospective cohort study of long-term cognitive impairment in survivors of critical illness. My research interests include geriatric critical care, cognitive impairment after critical illness, delirium, and sedation in the ICU.
