- Dr. Cohen has been in Retina practice since 1994.He graduated with honors from Harvard College in Mathematics and completed his medical training at Harvard Medical School in the Harvard-MIT Health Sciences and Technology Program.
Harvard He did an internship at Brown University and an Ophthalmology residency at University of California, Davis. He then completed two years of Retina fellowship training at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute at the University of Miami.
Dr. Cohen has clinics in our Clearwater and St. Petersburg offices. He performs surgery at Largo Medical Center and All Children's Hospitals as well as St. Anthony Surgery Center. He has a special interest in medical retina (macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy), pediatric retina and uveitis.

Dr. Cohen is a Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of South Florida School of Medicine. He was chosen by the ophthalmology residents for the David D. Donaldson, MD Clinical Faculty Teaching Award in 2011. He was elected by his peers for inclusion in Best Doctors in America for 2013 and 2014. He facilitates a monthly retina conference for the residents in the 0phthalmology program.
Dr. Cohen holds multiple patents for a drug delivery device for sustained release drug to the posterior pole of the eye and lenses for use during retina surgery.
Dr. Cohen has over 60 published papers and abstracts in peer reviewed journals. He has spoken at national and international Retina meetings. He is board ceritified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
