Overview of Dr. Molossi
Silvana Molossi, MD, PhD, graduated from the Federal University of Pelotas, Brazil, completed clinical and research fellowship in Pediatric Cardiology at the Hospital For Sick Children in Toronto, Canada and received her doctorate in Pathology and Cardiovascular Sciences from the University of Toronto. She served as a Professor of Pediatrics on the School of Medicine of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, where she supervised graduate students in the Master Program for Pediatrics and Cardiology. She served for 7 years as the Chief of the Pediatric Cardiology Division and Cardiac Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Complexo Hospitalar Santa Casa, Porto Alegre, Brazil. Dr. Molossi joined Baylor College of Medicine, Department of Pediatrics, Cardiology Division, Texas Children’s Hospital, in March 2011. She has been involved in screening athletes for >20 years, holds the Vice-President of Science/Research position for the Championship Hearts Foundation and is on the Medical Advisory Board for the National Coronary Anomalies Foundation, non-profit organizations. She is a Fellow (FACC) of the American College of Cardiology and served as the Co-Chair of the Sports & Exercise Cardiology Section for the American College of Cardiology (2013-2016). In the past 12 years, she established the first Coronary Artery Anomalies Program and has co-founded the International Coronary Artery Anomalies Collaborative (ICAAC), furthering the knowledge in CAA. She serves as the Medical Director of the Coronary Artery Anomalies Program and Associate Chief for the Division of Cardiology at Texas Children’s Hospital, Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Molossi has contributed to various professional publications along her career, primarily focusing on Sports Cardiology and anomalous coronary arteries.
