Summary

  • I am a board certified, fellowship trained corneal surgeon with over 25 years of experience managing diverse and complicated cases. A substantial part of my career has been as a Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of California, Irvine where I saw private patients and trained residents and fellows in the medical management and microsurgical techniques required of an ophthalmologist and cornea specialist. I was nominated as Clinician of the Year by UCI Medical Center in 2011.

Currently in private practice in Beverly Hills and Huntington Beach, CA I am in LA and Orange County, operating on the cutting edge of current practice, whether it be bladeless LASIK with the iFS laser, corneal collagen Cross-Linking, Laser Cataract Surgery, Cornea Transplants, Dry Eyes.

I publish and speak frequently about new developments in eye surgery and vision optimization. I am currently engaged in a clinical study open to new patients for corneal collagen Cross-Linking and CXL + INTACS. And I was one of 20 top surgeons to first use the femtosecond laser, which I use frequently in my practice. I was on the ground floor when LASIK was introduced and now do bladeless LASIK with the iFS and Allegretto or Wavefront technology. I have also developed an effective technique for managing recurrent pterygia. My current interests in addition to the above are Laser Cataract surgery, DSEK,DALK. And in my free time, I visit far parts of the globe to help others. Or appear on "The Doctors."

I was named in 2013 as a Most Compassionate Doctor, named in 2012 as a US News Top Doctor, in 2014 as a Physician of Excellence and Top Doctor by the Orange County Medical Association . This year I received an award for 10 years on the Best Doctors in America list. But my greatesst rewards come from my patients, who remind me how lucky I am to help people and use my skills to restore vision and improve sight. My patients make all the hard work not only worthwhile, but inspiring.
