Through his voluntary efforts, Dr. Cole has raised over one million dollars for the American Cancer Society for cancer research and patient care. Dr. Cole has also participated in the Vida International Medical Care program in Costa Rica, Nicaragua, and Panama. He lectures throughout the state on a variety of topics.

    Dr. Cole earned his medical degree at the Bowman Gray School of Medicine, Wake Forest University in North Carolina. He completed an externship in anesthesiology at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, a diagnostic radiology internship, and served as the chief resident in a three-year radiation oncology residency at the University of Virginia Hospital in Charlottesville, Virginia.

    Dr. Cole received postgraduate training in Transrectal Ultrasound Prostate Implantation at the Pacific Northwest Cancer Foundation in Seattle, Washington with pioneer Dr. John Blasko, and at Mt. Sinai Hospital, New York with Dr. Nelson Stone.
