Summary
- Dr. Tosi received his medical degree from Case Western Reserve University in Ohio in 2009 after completing undergraduate studies in chemistry and economics at Northwestern University. During medical school, Dr. Tosi also earned an MBA with a focus in Healthcare Systems Management from the Weatherhead School of Management.
Dr. Tosi completed and was chief resident of his ophthalmology residency at Louisiana State University/Ochsner in New Orleans. He then completed a busy two year fellowship in vitreoretinal surgery at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and Retina Specialists of Alabama while completing a Helen Keller Research Fellowship. During his training, Dr. Tosi participated in a Nicaragua health mission, performing surgery on patients without access to retina care and providing surgical training to Nicaraguan ophthalmologists.
Dr. Tosi joined Retina & Vitreous Consultants of Wisconsin, Ltd., in 2015, taking over the practice of Dr. Frederick Reeser, the company’s founder. He has performed over 5,000 vitreoretinal surgeries, and his surgical interests include complex retinal detachments management, all macular pathology, retinal injury from ocular trauma, advanced diabetic retinopathy and subretinal tissue plasminogen activator injection for submacular hemorrhage.
Dr. Tosi is the Ophthalmology Service Chief at Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center, and also serves on the Board of Vision Forward, a local non-profit dedicated to providing low vision services to those in need.
A member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and American Society of Retina specialists, Dr. Tosi has published several articles and abstracts and speaks medical Spanish.
