  • Dr. Nathan Carroll, DO (2021), MBA (2019), MPH (2024), is a first-generation chief resident psychiatrist at Jersey Shore University Medical Center. Additionally, he is the chair of the American Psychiatric Association National Leadership Fellowship for 2024 – 2025.

    Dr. Carroll graduated in 2006 from William Paterson with a degree in philosophy and then worked as a family counselor with Family Preservation Services. During this time, he became deeply familiar with the numerous barriers to psychiatric care which his families faced. As a result, he was inspired to embark on the path to medicine, juggling pre-medical classes with full-time employment before being accepted to Rowan School of Osteopathic Medicine in 2016.

    Nathan’s work, commentary, and op-eds have been featured on multiple media outlets, including Psychiatric News, Fox News, ABC, CBS, Yahoo! News, Newsweek, and the Sun. He is particularly interested in the intersection of mental health, popular culture, and innovation.
