Summary
- I am an internal medicine physician who was raised in the Dallas-Fort Worth area who believes in employing evidence-based medicine, validation, active listening, as well as acknowledgement of patient circumstances and concerns in my clinical encounters. These include emphasizing whole-person care, preventative medicine, and shared medical decision making in my daily practice. My training background started in the form of advanced computational and mathematical studies with biomedical applications in university, to formal medical training in medical school and residency where I earned a Doctorate of Medicine (MD) and internal medicine residency certification and full Texas Physician's License. Now, my focus as an attending physician who practices in both rural and metropolitan settings is on integration of disease states with therapeutics in the form of solutions-driven investigations to improve care.
Patient education, health literacy, and provider-patient communication are important hallmarks of my clinical practice are pillars of my philosophical practice of medicine. The engagement of patients and/or patient surrogate satisfaction is the foremost metric I base my personal performance on a medical doctor. I try to explain to my patients what care am I offering and the rationale behind my decisions, while welcoming feedback.
When not directly caring for patients, I believe strongly that academic participation in advancing disease dialogue and research is a form of supportive patient advocacy.
My research interests involve critical thinking, conceptual integration, clinical research, and basic science participation to understand disease processes and potentially exploiting pathophysiology to improve treatment. These primarily stem in the field of understanding internal systems, especially cardiopulmonary, vascular, and metabolic areas of study. However, I am very open minded to collaboration on all topics. Feel free to reach out to me to collaborate.
