- Michele Y. Halyard, M.D , FASTRO, is a radiation oncologist at Mayo Clinic’s Arizona campus, where she treats breast and head and neck cancer. She is the Suzanne Hanson Poole Vice-Dean at Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine and Dean of the Arizona campus. She is also a professor of radiation oncology at Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science. She is a member of Alliance for Clinical Trials in Oncology Health Outcomes Committee and Radiation Oncology Committees. Dr. Halyard’s interests include breast cancer, and head and neck cancer treatment; cancer in minority populations; quality of life research; and cancer symptoms control research. Dr. Halyard is the cofounder of the Coalition of Blacks Against Breast Cancer, a community based organization supported by Mayo Clinic, that serves to provide support and education to the Black community of the Phoenix metropolitan area focused on breast cancer screening, diagnosis, treatment, and survivorship. She has ranked in Phoenix Magazine’s Top Doctors four times. U.S. News & World Report ranks Mayo Clinic Arizona as the #1 hospital in Arizona.
