Summary

  • Dr. Melissa Goldstein works with Dr. Maria Asnis, Dr. Bismruta Misra, and Dr. Rebekah Gospin at Stamford Health Medical Group Endocrinology (SHMGE). SHMGE is a unique consultative center that offers the most up-to-date comprehensive treatment for diabetes and endocrinologic disorders. The endocrinologists at SHMGE pride themselves on individualizing treatment regimens and realize that a “one shoe fits all” approach does not work. They enjoy educating patients to better understand their disease process and empower them to treat their condition.
Our physicians work in conjunction with Stamford Hospital Diabetes Education Program, an American Diabetes Association recognized program which provides individual and group nutritional counseling, diabetes education, and insulin pump and continuous glucose monitoring training. In addition, we administer all current osteoporosis treatments in office including thyroid ultrasounds and ultrasound guided thyroid biopsies.

Dr. Melissa Goldstein completed her fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism at New York University. While she enjoys taking care of any endocrinology problem, special interests include thyroid cancer, hypogonadism, and thyroid disease and diabetes in pregnancy. In addition, she is experienced in the management of transgender individuals. Her research background includes testing a novel neuroendocrine drug in the treatment of breast cancer and following a cohort of acromegalic patients. Dr. Goldstein is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons.
