Summary
- Dr. Mazen Kherallah has received his medical degree from University of Damascus in 1987 followed by internal medicine residency at the University of Illinois in Chicago in addition to an infectious disease and critical care medicine fellowships at University of Illinois in Chicago, University of Chicago, Medical College of Wisconsin and Wayne State University. He is certified by the American board of Internal Medicine in his three specialties since 1995 and is currently a critical care and infectious disease consultant at Sanford Health System in Fargo, USA and at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Dr. Kherallah is the past president and a founding member of the Middle East Critical Care Assembly (MCCA) and a board member of Global Health Equity Foundation. He is an active fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians (ACCP), and a member of the Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM).
Dr. Kherallah has been working with WHO office in Syria as STC since 2009 providing consultations and conducting workshops in the fields of infectious disease and critical care medicine. His area of research has been focused on quality, safety and management of critical care units, and severity of illness scoring systems. He has many publications in these fields.
Mazen is married to Bassima with four children Kenan, Yaman, Raghad, and Yazan Kherallah
