Summary
- Dr. Brown graduated from LeTourneau University summa cum laude receiving the academic achievement award from the department of biological sciences. After graduation he then went on to earn his medical degree at Texas A&M University. He was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society in his 3rd year of medical school. During his medical training he was also selected to be part of the prestigious Clinical Research Training Program (CRTP) at the National Institutes of Health. During this year he conducted basic science and clinical research focused on the treatment of head and neck cancer.
Dr Brown then returned to Texas A&M where he completed his doctorate of medicine and graduated with honors. He then went on to post-graduate training in plastic and reconstructive surgery at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. During this time he received comprehensive training in aesthetics, trauma, and cancer reconstructive plastic surgery. He was selected as resident of the year by the department of plastic surgery during his final year of training and went on to complete a fellowship in hand surgery at the University of Michigan.
During his academic and surgical training Dr. Brown has written and published over fifty peer reviewed publications and book chapters related to hand and plastic surgery. He has also volunteered for multiple international medical missions trips providing medical care to the underserved as well instructing local physicians. He is experienced in providing a full array of plastic surgery services and has expertise in adult and pediatric hand problems and injuries.
