Summary

• Having practiced Ob-Gyn in various settings across the country, I am now happily retired as of April 1, 2007. My focus now is on age management medicine and helping friends and family navigate the complex world of modern American medicine. We desperately need single payer universal healthcare. This would greatly benefit patients and healthcare providers and eliminate the toxic influence of third payers. Physicians are suffering from 'burnout' in record numbers, and we can't afford to have them retire early or curtail their practices. Since most physicians are now employed by corporate entities, I urge my colleagues to join organized medicine, and seriously consider unionization as a means to achieve equity for themselves and their patients.
