- Mark B. Woodland, MS, MD, FACOG, is clinical professor OBGYN and Associate Dean for Policy/Advocacy at Drexel University College of Medicine (DUCOM). He served 4 years as interim chair of the OBGYN department during the development of the West Reading Campus. He has been a member of DUCOM faculty for over 20 years. He served as the OB/GYN residency program director and vice dean for graduate medical education at the College of Medicine until joining Reading Hospital as chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology in 2015 until 2024.
Dr. Woodland was nominated by the governor and confirmed by the state senate as one of the physicians on the Pennsylvania State Board of Medicine in 2018 and renominated in 2022 for a second 4-year term. He was elected chair in October 2021 and again in December 2022 and December 2023. He is also an elected board member of the Federation of State Medical Boards (FSMB).
He is a past chair of the Council on Resident Education in Obstetrics and Gynecology for the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (CREOG) for the American College of OBGYN (ACOG).
Dr. Woodland received his medical degree from George Washington University School of Medicine and served his internship at George Washington University Medical Center. He completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Pennsylvania Hospital.
He is clinically active in general gynecology with a special interest in minimally invasive surgery, physician resilience, artificial intelligence, and ethics/professionalism.
