Summary
- I am a board-certified internist, board certified fellowship trained geriatrician and a board-certified wound care specialist. I did my undergraduate at National Organization for Development of Exceptional Talents (NODET) and medical school at Tehran University of Medical Sciences(TUMS).After graduation from medical school ,I completed extensive clinical rotations in numerous east coast academic centers and hospitals including, Sinai Hospital of Baltimore(MD), Baltimore Washington Medical Centre(MD), George Washington University Medical Center(DC), Inova Alexandria Hospital(VA).I completed my internship in internal medicine at Prince George's Hospital Center in Metro DC area and my residency in internal medicine at Montefiore Medical Center in New York City. I also completed my geriatric fellowship at Montefiore Medical center, the university hospital of Albert Einstein College of Medicine under the guidance of Dr. T.S. Dharmarajan (Professor of Clinical Medicine, Vice Chairman Department of Medicine, Clinical Director, Division of Geriatrics and the Program Director, Geriatric Medicine Fellowship Program at Montefiore). I have about 20 scientific presentations (abstracts) in inter-mural, county, state, national meetings. My research interests focus primarily in the areas of geriatrics syndromes such as falls, urinary incontinence, insomnia, dementia and also wound care, end of life issues and deprescribing. I am also a board-certified wound care specialist (from the American Board of Wound Medicine and Surgery, ABWMS, FACCWS) and a Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP). I received my Certified Medical Director (CMD) Credential by the American Board of Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine (ABPLM) and my Hospice Medical Director Certified (HMDC) by the Hospice Medical Director Certification Board. I have been long training and teaching medical students, residents and geriatric fellows.
