- Dr. Sheikh directs a cardiology practice specializing in lipid management and cardiovascular disease prevention and reversal. He practices with Health First Physicians-Cardiovascular Specialists, a single specialty, cardiology practice in Brevard County, on the Space Coast of Florida.
He is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Diseases. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. He is a certified clinical lipid specialist, board certified in adult echocardiography and has completed level I training in cardiac CT imaging. His clinical interests include lipid management, comprehensive preventative cardiology, cardiac imaging and invasive cardiology. He was recognized by the Consumers’ Research Council of America as one of America’s Top Cardiologists.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Sheikh maintains active interests in medical administration, clinical research and teaching. He serves as Director of General Cardiology Services at Cape Canaveral Hospital in Cocoa Beach, Florida. He is a faculty member of the University of Central Florida, College of Medicine. He is also the Director of Clinical Research for Brevard Cardiovascular Research Associates. He is a former Assistant Professor in the College of Medicine of Duke University. He received his MBA from Florida Institute of Technology. He has served as the principal investigator in over 100 national and international clinical trials. He has authored over 150 scientific abstracts, peer-reviewed journal articles, book chapters and subject reviews.
