Summary

  • I am a head & neck cancer surgeon oncologist specializing in the management of thyroid cancer surgery. My practice encompasses the management of all thyroid and parathyroid disease, described below, but I also specialize in head & neck cancer surgery including aggressive skin cancers like melanoma as well as cancers of the upper aerodigestive tract (oral, oropharynx, larynx). I work within the multidisciplinary UCSF Head and Neck Cancer Program within the Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center of UCSF Medical Center at Mission Bay in San Francisco.

I see patients in both San Francisco and Berkeley offices. I will always see all new patient referrals within 1-2 weeks. I am committed to providing supportive and compassionate care that offers the best safety and cancer outcomes available anywhere.

In clinic, I perform ultrasound evaluation and same-day FNA biopsy of all suspected neck and thyroid tumors, and I perform molecular analysis of thyroid nodules on US-guided FNA as needed. Surgically, I offer the entire range of surgical care for the head and neck, from surgery for benign nodules to the most invasive head & neck cancers, and I have a special interest and expertise in surgery for advanced and recurrent thyroid cancer which involves neck lymph nodes or invasion of local structures.

To initiate a consultation, please email me directly at jonathan.george@ucsf.edu or call my clinic at 415-885-7528; fax referrals to 415-885-7711.
