Dr. Gelsey Goodstein is an outpatient primary care physician with the Apex Multispecialty Medical Group near Beverly Hills, California. She has been a private practice Hospitalist at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for over 5 years, and continues to serve as the Chief Operating Officer of the Genesis Hospitalist Medical Group. Dr. Goodstein is certified with the American Board of Internal Medicine and is a member of the American College of Physicians.
Dr. Goodstein obtained her medical degree from New York Medical College in 2010. She completed her Internal Medicine Residency at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center/West Los Angeles VA in 2013. She was selected by the program director and her peers to stay on for an extra year as a chief resident. In addition to a variety of administrative responsibilities, she helped lead academic conferences, served as a clinical instructor on ward service, and proctored house staff in outpatient clinics. Additionally, she helped select residency applicants for the next training year. She also had a strong research interest in the area of diabetes and metabolism, and worked closely with her mentors at the VA to co-author a publication for the peer-reviewed medical journal, Diabetes Care.
Previously, Dr. Goodstein graduated from UCLA in 2006 with a B.S. in Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Genetics. She was in the College honors program, graduating Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa. She participated in 2 years of bench research and contributed to two publications in the field of molecular genetics.
