Dr. Francis J Thornton is a radiologist with Hampton Roads Radiology Associates in Virginia Beach. He received his medical degree from the National University of Ireland at University College Cork and has been in practice 25+ years. He specializes in abdominal imaging, cardiac CT & MRI, gastrointestinal imaging, and genitourinary imaging. He is board certified in surgery from RCSI (Royal College of Surgeons, Ireland) and board certified in Radiology by the ABR and RCSI. Dr. Thornton completed a 2-year surgical research fellowship at Johns Hopkins, Abdominal Imaging fellowship at Duke University Medical center and an MRI Fellowship at UW Madison.
