He has unparalleled expertise in utilizing advanced radiotherapy technologies, including stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) and stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT), to treat complex and orphan diseases.
Dr. Thomas earned his medical degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine in 2015 and completed a residency in surgery at Brookwood Baptist Health from 2016 to 2017. He further specialized in radiation oncology during his residency at the University of Alabama Medical Center, which he completed in 2021.
An accomplished researcher and academic, Dr. Thomas has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and book chapters on optimizing CNS and functional radiosurgery techniques. Dr. Thomas is also an internationally invited speaker, having lectured in over 15 countries and delivered grand rounds at some of the world’s leading academic institutions. His leadership roles include serving on the ASTRO CNS Subcommittee for benign radiotherapy applications and the Radiosurgery Society's Executive Board.
Driven by a commitment to excellence in patient care and innovation, Dr. Thomas is actively involved in clinical trials exploring novel radiotherapy applications, including a groundbreaking randomized trial testing SRS for spasticity in cerebral palsy, stroke, and spinal cord injury patients.
Outside of clinical practice, Dr. Thomas collaborates extensively with Varian Medical Systems and Siemens Healthineers, leveraging over a decade of trusted relationships to advance radiotherapy technologies and patient outcomes globally.
