Summary
- Emily Clionsky, M.D. is the co-founder and CMO of Clionsky Neuro Systems, Inc. where she and Mitch Clionsky, Ph.D. ABPP-CN co-developed the Memory Orientation Screening Test, the MOST-96120 and the mdMOST.
As an internist/psychiatrist in private practice in Springfield, MA, Dr. Clionsky has treated over 4,000 cognitively impaired patients since 2007. She developed advanced treatment protocols which combine optimized medication regimens with comprehensive identification and aggressive treatment of cognitively impairing reversible conditions, such as hypoxia and one-carbon abnormalities.
The merit of this approach is supported by analysis of longitudinal data from several large cohorts of patients with Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI), Alzheimer's/ Vascular Dementia, CVA, Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy(CTE), and Parkinson's Disease which demonstrate statistically and clinically better outcomes with respect to cognitive stabilization and improvement over two years in compared with community-based standard care.( AAN Phila, PA April, 2014)
In addition to maintaining an active clinical schedule she is also an industry consultant and forensic medical expert.
Before she graduated from Jefferson Medical College (1997), Dr. Clionsky was in the computer industry for 20 years, opened new sales channels, trained sales and support personnel, and developed and commercialized unique products used in military and medical applications.
After her internal medicine residency at UPMC Mercy Hospital (2000), she was a National Public Health doctor, started 2 new clinics in rural South Carolina, volunteered as the assistant medical director for Marlboro County Hospice, and worked as a hospitalist / intensivist at a local 150-bed community hospital. She completed her psychiatry residency at Dartmouth Hitchcock (2004-2007) where she started her research in dementia testing and efforts to translate bench-level research into practical diagnostic and treatment approaches.
