  • Dr. Atul Shah is a board-certified allergist, who founded NY Food Allergy & Wellness to help families with food allergies. He has been awarded a dual fellowship by the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology and by the American College of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology. His experience in managing adults and children of all ages has earned him a “he can help ” reputation among other allergists, physicians, and medical professionals. He has been recognized with various awards including the America’s Top Physicians’ Award, the Patients’ Choice Award and the Most Compassionate Physicians’ Award. He co-founded GFI (Global Food Initiative) to help food allergy families who do not live locally to provide access to the highest level of food allergy care through technology. His patient base is expanding beyond New York to many states and multiple countries. His medical career began in India, followed by an internship, a residency, and fellowships at various institutions, including the College of Physicians & Surgeons at Columbia University; Albert Einstein College of Medicine; Schneider Children’s Hospital; Harlem Hospital; and Long Island Jewish Medical Center. Dr. Shah founded the Center4Asthma&Allergy in the year 2000 with a personal mission of “touching as many lives positively, in as many ways possible”. After more than 20 years, his patient base has grown from the local community to national and international patients. In 2015, he opened New York Food Allergy & Wellness on Long Island, making it the first OIT Center in New York. In 2023, we opened our premier location in New York City. Dr. Shah’s work and articles as an allergist have been published in peer-reviewed professional journals, local newspapers, and weekly columns. He accepts invitations for speaking engagements at seminars and meetings. He is also an author and a publisher of a variety of educational materials including the “AmazingAllergist’s Awesome Book Series for Children" - available on Amazon.
