Summary
- Clinical expertise managing and caring for the respiratory complications in children with Down syndrome or Trisomy 21. This includes having worked in a multi-disciplinary Down syndrome clinic managing airway abnormalities, obstructive sleep apnea, and pulmonary hypertension in children with Down syndrome. Additional experience performing flexible bronchoscopy to evaluate the airways of children with and without Down syndrome and worked closely with developmental, ENT and cardiology providers in the complex care of children with Down syndrome.
In addition to my work with the Down syndrome population, I have clinical expertise in other disorders of lung development including bronchopulmonary dysplasia and congenital diaphragmatic hernia. Additional clinical interests include pulmonary hypertension and other pulmonary vascular disorders, childhood diffuse and interstitial lung diseases (ChILD), severe or refractory asthma, technology dependence (tracheostomy and ventilators), aerodigestive disorders and the pulmonary complications of sickle cell disease.
