Summary

• I began my medical career as an officer in the US Public Health Service, practicing primary care internal medicine and pediatrics in the inner city and arctic Alaska, where I also did a lot of remote emergency medicine. I transitioned to inpatient medicine, critical care and academics in Phoenix, and have continued to teach acute ambulatory and inpatient medical care for adults and children in Utah. After 17 years in the US Public Health Service, I served 7 years as a flight surgeon in the Air Force Reserve before retiring from uniformed service.
