Summary
- Dr. Podolsky is an internationally recognized physician scientist who has made major contributions to our understanding of the molecular basis of gastrointestinal disease and the development of new therapeutics based on our understanding of epithelial biology and innate immune response. Prior to assuming the role of President of UT Southwestern Medical Center in 2008, Dr. Podolsky was the Mallinckrodt Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School, and served as chief academic officer at Partners HealthCare as well as chief of gastroenterology at Massachusetts General Hospital, where he also founded the NIH funded Center for the Study of Inflammatory Bowel Disease.
