At MUSC, he has published several peer reviewed papers, written review articles, authored editorial for JAMA Neurology, as well as written chapters for stroke textbooks. His work has been well cited with >1000 citations. His focus at MUSC has been studying outcomes after stroke and ICH associated with sickle cell disease, as well as studying process, care delivery, risk factors and outcomes among patients treated via stroke telemedicine. He is principal/sub-investigator for several StrokeNet and industry clinical trials at MUSC.
