- Charles H. Weaver, MD, is an oncologist, former cancer researcher, and pioneer of Internet-based healthcare education, marketing, and application development. Dr. Weaver trained at the University of Washington, the University of Pennsylvania, National Institutes of Health, and Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. His clinical research interests included stem cell therapy, breast cancer, lymphomas, and medical decision-making. He has authored over 75 articles in major medical journals including the Journal of Clinical Oncology, Blood, Cancer, Bone Marrow Transplantation and the New England Journal of Medicine.
As a pioneer of Internet-based cancer education and content marketing, he has been educating and empowering cancer patients since 1997 when he founded CancerConnect.com, one of the first patient-focused cancer web portals. He also founded and serves as Executive Editor of Women: Total Health & Wellness Magazine, and developed and moderates the social media applications used by Harvard, Memorial Sloan Kettering, Roswell Park, UCSF, Ohio State James Cancer Inst and other leading cancer centers to support and engage cancer patients.
