Summary
- I am a board certified inpatient staff psychiatrist in San Antonio, TX. I am employed by the South Texas Veterans Health Care System as well as an Adjunct Associate Professor for the University of Texas Health Science Center of San Antonio where I have been providing clinical education since graduating residency in 2009. I received my medical degree from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2005 and have been in clinical practice since graduating residency in 2009. My main location of care has been acute inpatient care though I also have broad experiences that include managing a hospital CL service which additionally consulted to an ER and providing psychiatric consultation in a combat zone at Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. I am exceptionally experienced in the care of military service members and veterans and I have a passion for teaching medical students, (psychiatry/neurology) residents as well as various types of physician extenders. I am very experienced in management of crisis intervention, PTSD, psychotic disorders, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, substance use disorders, personality disorders, cognitive disorders and situational crises. I am well versed in the legalities of acute inpatient care as well as can navigate neuropsychiatric sequelae emerging from medical decompensation.
