  • Dr. Palumbo received his medical degree from the University of South Florida College of Medicine. He then completed a five year orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of South Florida Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine. Further, he concluded his training with a one year surgical fellowship in advanced joint replacement surgery at Harvard Combined Orthopaedics/Brigham and Woman's Hospital. Currently he is Board Certified in Orthopaedic surgery and practices at the Florida Orthopedic Institute (FOI). He is an Assistant Professor at the University of South Florida Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine Residency and is a member of the American Academy of Hip and Knee Surgeons (AAHKS). He practices in Tampa, New Tampa and Wesley Chapel. He specializes in hip and knee joint replacements with a focus in treating painful and infected prostheses.

    Specific interests include total hip arthroplasty through a direct anterior approach, partial knee arthroplasty and revision arthroplasty. Additionally, he has a devoted interest in clinical and basic science research with particular research interests in unicompartmental knee arthroplasty, biomechanics and implant design and development.

    Specialties: Hip and knee joint replacement, revision hip and knee joint replacement, periprosthetic infections, knee arthroscopy, partial knee replacement, direct anterior hip replacement and patient specific knee replacement.
