- Anirban P. Mitra, MD, PhD, is a board-certified urologist and urologic oncologist at the Cedars-Sinai Urology Academic Practice. He is an Assistant Professor in the Departments of Urology and Computational Biomedicine at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Dr. Mitra's clinical practice includes treatment of cancers of the bladder, kidney, prostate, urethra, upper urinary tract, testis, penis and adrenal glands. He is fellowship-trained in the management of urologic malignancies, with expertise in complex open and minimally invasive (laparoscopic and robotic) surgery.
Dr. Mitra's clinical work informs and directs his scientific interests. His research portfolio encompasses studies investigating clinicopathologic and molecular drivers of progression and therapeutic response of genitourinary tumors, with emphasis on urinary bladder cancer. His work has involved multidisciplinary collaborations, multicenter investigations and clinical trials, with an overarching goal of identifying optimal oncologic management strategies. His research has been published in high-impact journals and has been widely referenced. He has served on international advisory committees for urologic cancers and is on the editorial board for several journals.
