Dr. Sharma graduated as a Valedictorian from MGM Medical College and received the Robert Dripps Award for Best Resident at Monmouth Medical Center, where he currently serves as Director of Pain Management. He was also named Best Graduating Fellow at the Cleveland Clinic. Since 2011, Dr. Sharma has been consistently rated as a "Top Doc" by New Jersey Monthly magazine, and he was featured on the cover in 2014. Castle Connolly has named him a top doctor in the NY metro area every year since 2014.
Specializing in minimally invasive techniques to treat spinal disorders, Dr. Sharma has performed over 40,000 spinal procedures during his 20 years of clinical practice. His expertise includes diagnosing challenging and rare cases, as well as pinpointing the source of chronic pain in the back, neck, and other areas. He is a leading practitioner of state-of-the-art techniques and has taught complex procedures at national and international spine meetings. Dr. Sharma has also overseen numerous cadaver courses to teach new and innovative technologies for treating spinal disorders.
As a published author and experienced educator, Dr. Sharma has written chapters in textbooks and recently published several review articles in major spine journals. He has also contributed clinical guidelines through the North American Spine Society. Dr. Sharma is an active member of the North American Spine Society and the International Spine Intervention Society, serving on several key committees.
